A meeting of the UNESCO-ISI Advisory Group and members of the ISI Expert Group able to attend was organized prior to the 13th International Symposium on River Sedimentation (ISRS2016) in Stuttgart, Germany, on the morning of September 18, 2016. The meeting reviewed current ISI activities and progress with the Action Plan adopted during the ISI 'Programme Planning Workshop’ held in Beijing, China from May 25-28, 2015. The meeting also reviewed the activities of the ISI Technical Secretariat (hosted by IRTCES) and discussed ISI priorities, initiatives and future activities. A brief report on the recent UNESCO IHP Council meeting and other relevant IHP activities was also presented .Participants included: Dr. Anil Mishra, Prof. Manfred Spreafico, Prof. Des. Walling and Prof. Cheng Liu of the ISI Advisory Group; and Prof. Zhao-Yin Wang, Prof. Helmut Habersack and Prof. Rollin H. Hotchkiss from the ISI Expert Group.
